What data is real-time (and what isn't)
Last updated: 2026-08-23
Bridge labels data latency on each surface. Here's the map.
Real-time (streaming, licensed feeds)
- Charts — live U.S. equity prices, with the current bar updating tick-by-tick during market hours.
- Options chain quotes — live NBBO (best bid/ask) from OPRA, the consolidated feed for all U.S. options exchanges.
- Time & sales tape — live options prints with aggressor side, sweep and block detection.
- Order book / depth heatmap — live resting-liquidity view.
- Order ticket — the quote you see when placing/approving an order is live NBBO.
Real-time options surfaces require the one-time market-data agreement — an exchange requirement, not a paywall.
Session-frequency (refreshed on a schedule, labeled in-app)
Some analytical surfaces compute on an interval rather than streaming — for example sector heatmap aggregates, breadth statistics, correlation matrices, and scanner-style screens. These refresh from seconds to a few minutes depending on the surface; each shows its own "as of" time.
Delayed / daily by nature
A few data types are only published delayed at the source, no matter which platform you use:
- Short interest — published by exchanges on a ~2-week cycle.
- Earnings dates — updated daily; companies move dates without warning, so always confirm the night before an earnings play.
Copy-trade execution data
Fill prices, order status, and position rows come from your broker's confirmations — they're the broker's truth, recorded as it happens, not a market-data estimate.
If something looks stale
Hard-refresh first (the app tells you when a new version is available). If a surface still shows an old "as of" time during market hours, report it via the in-app Send feedback (⌘K → "Send feedback") — data-wrong reports are triaged with priority.
