What happens when a trade loses

Last updated: 2026-08-23

Losing trades are part of trading. Every leader on Bridge loses on some percentage of their setups. This page walks through what Bridge does on a loser, and what it does NOT do.

What Bridge does

  1. The leader posts an exit signal (or hits their stop).
  2. Bridge parses the exit and routes a closing order to your broker on your behalf — same risk gate, same audit trail.
  3. The closing order fills.
  4. Your account shows the realized loss.
  5. Bridge logs the round-trip in your trade history: - Entry price (from the leader's signal + Bridge's broker fill) - Exit price - Realized P&L (post-commission, post-slippage) - Time-in-trade - Which leader, which mode (A/B/C)
  6. Your dashboard's running P&L is updated.

What Bridge does NOT do

What you can do after a loser

  1. Look at the audit log. Settings → Trade History. Filter by leader, by date, by mode. The audit shows what the leader posted, what Bridge parsed, what got sized, what the broker filled, what the final P&L was. If anything looks off (e.g. parser bug, sizing math off, broker rejected for weird reason), email [SUPPORT_EMAIL] and we'll investigate.

  2. Adjust your risk profile. If you keep getting bigger losers than you can stomach, the answer is almost always to lower risk per trade, not to switch leaders. See Risk profiles & defaults.

  3. Pause the leader for a week. If a leader is mid-cold-streak, you can mute them temporarily. Settings → Leaders → click the leader → Pause. You won't get their signals; everyone else continues. Unpause when you want them back.

  4. Stop trading for the day. Most prop firms (and most prudent traders) have a daily-loss-limit. Most brokers all let you set one in the broker UI. Set it, respect it. Bridge respects your broker's hard stop — if your account hits its daily-loss limit, Bridge stops routing new signals to it for the rest of the session.

  5. Take a break from Bridge. Cancel. Come back later. Bridge profits when you do well; we don't try to keep you trading when you should be resting. See How to cancel.

What if I think Bridge made a mistake?

Specifically: you believe Bridge mis-parsed a signal, sized incorrectly, or routed something the leader didn't actually post. That's a real service issue and we want to know.

  1. Email [SUPPORT_EMAIL] with: - Your Bridge account email - The leader name - The approximate time of the trade (ET) - A screenshot of your Bridge trade history entry - A screenshot of the leader's original Discord post (if you can get it)

  2. We pull the audit log (we have it), compare against the leader's original message (we have a copy), and confirm or refute.

  3. If Bridge mis-routed (parser bug, sizing math wrong, etc.) — we reimburse the direct loss caused by the bug, not the trade's ordinary P&L. Example: if the leader said "1 contract" and Bridge sized "10 contracts" due to a parser bug, the loss on the extra 9 contracts is reimbursable. The loss on the 1 the leader intended is not (that's your normal trading risk).

  4. Refund / reimbursement requests go through our Refund Policy.

Don't chargeback first. We can't reverse a chargeback once it's opened, even if we agree we owe you money. Email is faster.

Reality check

If you can't accept that a Copy Trade subscription will have losing trades — including stretches of multiple losers in a row — Bridge is not the right product. We're not selling guaranteed returns. We're selling a way to get vetted signals into your broker, sized to your risk, with a paper trail. The trading P&L is your responsibility.

If you're new to active trading: start in Approve-each mode (Mode C) with a small per-trade cap, and only move to auto-execution once you've watched how signals, sizing, and exits behave with your own money at a size you're comfortable losing. See Execution modes.
